Frequently asked questions

What happens if we want to book?

A.That’s great news! Please get in touch via the Contact page or send an email to
hi@luisgomes.uk, letting me know your wedding date. I will let you know if your date is still available and if it is I will send you a booking form.

We’re not sure whether we want an album, can we decide later?

A.Absolutely! If an album isn’t included in your package, you can order one at any time later. Some couples decide to get an album once they’ve received their final images, even if it’s a few weeks afterwards. Albums are a great way to display and enjoy your favourite photos, as sometimes they get forgotten on a memory stick.

What do we have to pay and when?

A.To secure me for your wedding day, I only need a booking fee and signed contract. The booking fee is 25% of the full cost and the remaining 75% is due 28 days before your wedding date.

Can I see some full wedding albums?

A.Of course, you can! Here are two full wedding albums: Holly & Steve and Sarah & Daniel

Will you photograph the little details and family groups?

A.Yes and yes.
I know how much care is taken to arrange all those little details that make your wedding day special. So I take care to photograph these for you.
If you would like group photos I would recommend 10 groups or less, as this ensures you and your guests have enough time to enjoy your special day together.

What if you haven’t photographed at our venue before?

A.Based on my documentary style of photography, capturing your day as the unique event that it is, it is not important whether I have shot at the venue before. No matter whether I am shooting at a familiar venue or a new place, I am always looking to be creative and to best capture each moment as it unfolds.
If you have any specific ideas in mind about photos you want at your venue, I am happy to discuss these with you.
If I have not shot at your venue before and you would like me to visit before your wedding day, I am happy to discuss this with you.

Have you photographed a wedding of a similar size to ours before?

A.I have had the pleasure of photographing weddings of various sizes, from intimate town hall weddings to large weddings of more than 300 people. If you are having a particularly large wedding, we can discuss whether it is best to have a second photographer.

Do you have insurance?

A.Yes. I am fully insured with professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Will you be the primary photographer on the day?

A.Yes. I am always the main photographer.

What is your back-up plan if you can’t attend on the day?

A.I’ve never been unable to attend any weddings couples have booked with me but I understand that illness and emergencies do happen. If circumstances change unexpectedly, I have a network of photographers that I would be able to call upon, with a similar style to mine.

What cameras do you use? Do you have back-ups?

A.I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark IV. I carry two cameras and a range of high-quality Canon lenses and flashes. I always think ahead and always have backups.

How far do you travel to photograph weddings?

A.I do weddings in the UK, Europe and South America.

Do you speak any other languages?

A.In addition to English, I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Can we meet up?

A.Yes! I am based in north London, so would be keen to meet up if you are in and around London. It’s important that my wedding couples feel confident in me and comfortable around me. We can also arrange a video call if you’d prefer.
